Training
All training will be conducted at EFPD Headquarters unless otherwise specified.
Tuesdays, Thursday, Saturday and Sundays Training at 0900 hrs, Wednesday Training at 1800 hrs.

As the summer approaches we have several things planned for our JRFF program. In the future, please watch your email for messages called JRFF Notes. All updates, notices and information will be sent to your email and parents email unless you specify otherwise.
State Fire School – See attached brochure – course 107
June 9th in Lexington Kentucky 8am-5pm
Personnel will be leaving the station at 6am
Transportation and lunch will be provided.
More information to follow.
Registration for this class must be done ASAP. If you wish you attend this course, notify me by May 19, 2012 so that you can be registered and your fees for this course can be sent in.
3rd Annual National Fire Heritage Muster
June 2, 2012
This is a combined event with other local JRFFs. We will participate if we have enough interest and JRFFs that can attend.

Memorial Day Parade
All personnel are encouraged to walk in the annual Memorial Day Parade. If you are interested in walking in the parade with the fire department, be at the station before 8am on May 28th.
Elsmere FD JRFF – 24 hour shift.
JRFF personnel are invited to “Walk in the Boots” of a fire fighter for a 24 hour shift. JRFFS will report to the station at 8am and participate in scheduled duties, training and activities for the duration of a 24 hour shift. The date for this event is tentatively scheduled for June 13th-June 14th. A confirmed date will be sent out in the next week. Notify me ASAP if you plan to participate in this event.
Weekly Training
JRFF personnel are encouraged to attend training weekly. We are now combining the Junior Firefighter training with regular department drills. Training dates and times are listed below.
Training topics are noted on the fire department website.
Tuesday and Thursday 9am-11am
Wednesday – 6pm-8pm
Saturday and Sunday 9am-11am
Fridays – First Friday of each month 9am-11am

Duty Hours
Starting June 1, JRFF personnel will be permitted to ride “Non-emergency” on department apparatus. This included to training, meals, errands, company inspections and incident scenes. JRFF personnel are encouraged to complete a minimum of six hours each month of duty hours. JRFF personnel are welcomed at the station to perform duty hours any time that does not conflict with school. A calendar is located on the bulletin board at the station to sign up for duty hours.
Recruitment
If you are aware of anyone interested in participating in the Elsmere Fire District JRFF program (that you would recommend), please have them contact me before June 1.
Combined JRFF Training
We are working on combined training with several other local departments with JRFF programs. More information will be coming out in June concerning this.
